The Evolution of Video Conferencing
Zoom, the virtual communication service that became a verb everyone knew well and often used in conversation during 2020. We are incredibly proud to have Zoom as a provider at Cactus Technology Solutions. When the world stopped meeting together, we still needed to connect, and Zoom was one of the top services to provide just that in dire times. With the ease of use, free or affordable service features, Zoom provides virtual classrooms, offices, and a safe way to connect with friends and family. At the end of 2019, there were 10 million Zoom users, and that figure shot up to almost 300 million in March 2020. With this increase came some trouble with security that Zoom had to address quickly and overcome by buying a security company to end encryption. Another primary reason why Zoom is so popular is that it is so easy to navigate, and it has a minimalistic feel that anyone can use. Zoom’s popularity and high usage all stem from its ability to adapt to the changing market demands. Zoom exploded over the last year and provided free virtual classrooms to over 125,000 K-12 schools for free. Zoom also has solutions such as Zoom Phone, Zoom Chat, Zoom Video Webinars, and Zoom Rooms to create unified communications that people could count on when they needed it the most.
Where Zoom Stands Now
Cactus Technology Solutions is proud to be partners with such an elite provider who could help all that needed it the most when the world stopped turning. When businesses started to use Zoom, they saw an 85% increase in video usage, 92% increase in performance, 82% increase in a greater sense of trust, and 91% increase in a greater understanding of engagement.
These comfortable, reliable, and frictionless unified communications help organizations increase their workflow and are found in offices and homes worldwide. They are still the leader in modern enterprise video communications in 2021, but that isn’t to say other businesses are trying to get a jab at this opportunity. Zoom is now estimated to be worth more than $130 billion due to the software’s ability to see a need and provide the solution to their problem.
Zoom is Here to Stay
Zoom’s future is optimistic and ambitious for 2021 and beyond, and to continue their success, they are looking to diversify their business into other areas with new features. Even though the end of the pandemic doesn’t seem so far away anymore, and reopening offices may not necessarily slow down the platform’s use. Since online meetings have become so well known in our everyday work life, investors expect Zoom to remain an essential tool. Even though other companies are coming to light as pretty good competitors to Zoom, they are trying to stay on top of the market changes.
